With the last census totaling over 10,000 people, Smyrna is a bustling and popular town in Kent County, Delaware.
As Delaware's fifth largest town, one of the reasons Smyrna is so popular is its proximity to the northern part of the state, convenient access to major cities like Philadelphia, PA, both Kent & Cecil Counties in Maryland, as well as New Jersey, and yet still close enough to the Delaware beaches to head down even late in the day and still catch a sunset.
Portions of Smyrna are still somewhat rural, while the downtown area is quaint and historic, maintaining some of that "old town" charm. There is quite a lot of history here!
Take a ride down Woodland Beach Road and visit a great fishing spot. Click here to see my short video filmed at Woodland Beach.
Pay a visit to Smyrna, grab a bite to eat at some of the local restaurants, make some great purchases at the downtown Farmers Market. Explore and enjoy this wonderful town.
